The TAA Program

The Trade Adjustment Assistance for Firms (TAA) program provides Federal funds for companies that have been adversely affected by foreign competition. U.S. firms experiencing increased foreign competition, a decline in sales or production, and a decline or impending decline in employment may be eligible for the TAA program.

There is no cost to apply for the program. The New York State Trade Adjustment Assistance Center (NYS TAAC) provides TAA program assistance only for New York State firms. For a list of regional centers serving other areas, please visit our TAA Centers page.

Types of Assistance

The TAA program can assist client firms to recover from the affects of foreign competition by funding projects that improve the firm's competitive position in the areas of:

Management

The specific types of assistance to be provided for your company are determined through completion of a Diagnostic Survey and development of an Adjustment Proposal as part of the funding approval process.
